Kazam and Yuma Partner to Power Faster Battery Swaps for Commercial EVs

EV charging company Kazam has joined hands with Yuma Energy, a battery-swapping service provider, to speed up electric vehicle charging across India. The partnership will install Yuma’s battery-swapping stations at Kazam’s Park and Charge (P&C) hubs, starting with Bengaluru and expanding nationwide.

This move allows commercial EV drivers, especially those in delivery and logistics, to swap out used batteries for fully charged ones in less than a minute, cutting down wait times and boosting productivity. These hubs will support two- and three-wheeler EVs, which are heavily used in last-mile delivery services.

Kazam already runs 60 P&C hubs in 10 states, charging over 3,000 vehicles daily and managing over 200 hubs for clients like Zypp Electric and BigBasket. Their model also provides resting and refreshment areas for drivers. Since launching in 2023, Kazam has powered 22 million km of zero-emission journeys using more than 1 GWh of clean energy.

Yuma Energy, a joint venture between Magna International and Yulu Bikes, has completed 20 million+ battery swaps, supporting over 800 million green kilometers with 99% uptime. Both companies aim to decarbonize last-mile delivery and expand India’s clean mobility infrastructure, making EV use easier and more efficient for commercial operators.
