KK Wind Solutions Opens New Bengaluru Factory to Boost Wind Power Component Production
May 15, 2025
Denmark-based KK Wind Solutions, a subsidiary of A.P. Moller Holding, has commissioned a new manufacturing facility in Dobbaspet near Bengaluru, operational since April 2025. The factory will produce power converters and control systems for the wind energy sector, supporting engineering, manufacturing, and customer service operations to meet increasing demand across Asia and global markets.
The company already operates an 11,000 m2 facility in Bengaluru since 2017. This expansion follows KK Wind Solutions’ 2024 acquisitions of the power converter and controls business from Vestas Wind Systems and Nissens Cooling Solutions.
With a project portfolio covering 56 GW offshore and 108 GW onshore, KK Wind Solutions has contributed to over 164 GW of installed wind capacity globally, including 19 GW added in 2024. These projects collectively generated 500 TWh of renewable energy last year.
The move comes as the wind industry witnesses record growth. According to the Global Wind Energy Council’s 2025 report, 117 GW of new wind capacity was added globally in 2024, with Asia Pacific accounting for 75% of the market. India remains one of the top five markets globally, contributing to 81% of new additions along with China, the U.S., Germany, and Brazil. The trend highlights growing regional manufacturing relevance.
