KPI Green, Juniper & Others Win 250 MW in GUVNL’s Latest Wind Auction in Gujarat

Apr 24, 2025

In the latest Phase IX wind energy auction by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL), four companies have secured a total of 250 MW of grid-connected wind projects in Gujarat, with the possibility to add another 250 MW later under the greenshoe option. The winners include KPI Green Energy (100 MW at Rs3.64/kWh), Juniper Green Energy (50 MW at Rs3.65/kWh), JGRJ Four Renewable (Jakson Green) (50 MW at Rs3.66/kWh), and Inox Neo Energies (50 MW at Rs3.66/kWh).

This auction, floated in January 2025, requires developers to handle project design and connect it to the state grid using a dedicated transmission line. They must also build and maintain this line and install the necessary energy monitoring systems at their own expense.

Projects must use approved wind turbine models listed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and meet specific technical standards, including supplying reactive power and maintaining at least 22?pacity utilization. If developers fall short, they will pay penalties up to 50% of the tariff. Land acquisition is also their responsibility.

This win follows recent success by some of these companies in previous GUVNL auctions, reflecting strong momentum in Gujarat’s wind energy growth.
