KREDL Invites Bids for 250 MW Solar Project with 1,100 MWh BESS in Tumkur District

Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has issued a request for selection (RfS) for a 250 MW solar power project with a 1,100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at Ryapte village, Tumkur district. The project aims to deliver peak power and improve grid utilization at Pavagada Solar Park. The bid submission deadline is July 5, 2025, with opening scheduled for July 7.

Bidders must pay a document fee of Rs41,300 (GST included), a bid processing fee of Rs25 lakh plus 18% GST, and furnish an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs60.59 crore. KREDL will lease out 1,000 acres of land across Annadanapura and Reddivarahalli villages, with a base sub-lease rate of Rs30,000/acre/year and a biennial escalation of 5%.

The scope includes leasing land, installing solar and BESS infrastructure, and connecting to Karnataka Solar Power Development Corporation’s Substation 6 and the interstate transmission system. Only technologies with commercial track records are allowed. Modules must comply with MNRE’s Approved List (ALMM), adhere to international standards, and include RFID tags. They should maintain 90% peak output after 10 years and 80?ter 25 years.

Performance monitoring equipment for weather and power output is mandatory. Bidders must demonstrate financial strength via one of the following: Rs1.2 crore/MW turnover in FY2024, Rs24 lakh/MW in internal resource generation, or a Rs0.3 crore/MW line of credit from banks.

This follows KREDL’s earlier award to Advait Energy Transitions to integrate 40,000 solar pumps under PM-KUSUM Component B.
