Mahanadi Coalfields Floats Rs144 Cr EPC Tender for 25 MW Solar Projects in Odisha

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a Coal India subsidiary, has issued an EPC tender for developing 25 MW of ground-mounted solar projects at Rampur Colliery and Samaleswari Opencast Project in Odisha. The estimated project cost stands at Rs144 crore. Bids must be submitted by May 19, 2025, and will be opened on May 21.
The tender mandates an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs50 lakh, and successful bidders must provide a performance bank guarantee worth 5% of the contract value within 21 days of receiving the award letter. The project must be commissioned within 730 days, followed by ten years of comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M).
The project must incorporate solar modules with at least 40? overload and must comply with the Approved Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2025.
To qualify, bidders must have completed either one similar work worth 40%, two worth 25%, or three worth 20% of the estimated project cost within the past ten years. Financial eligibility includes a minimum average annual turnover of 30% and a net worth of 10% of the estimated cost.
MCL continues expanding its solar portfolio, having previously tendered 1.5 MW rooftop and 5 MW floating solar projects.
