Maharashtra CM Inaugurates 11 Solar Plants Benefiting 14,893 Farmers in Yavatmal

Sept 15, 2025

In Maharashtra's Yavatmal district, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated 11 solar power plants. These plants have been developed under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0. The main purpose of these projects is to provide direct solar power supply to farmers, ensuring reliable and affordable electricity for the agriculture sector.

This initiative is benefiting nearly 14,893 farmers across 167 villages. Farmers will receive electricity during the daytime through solar power, making agricultural activities like irrigation and pumping more sustainable and cost-effective. In addition, the livelihoods of rural communities will be strengthened, and their dependence on costly conventional power sources will be reduced.

The Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0 is a flagship program of the Maharashtra government that integrates farming with renewable energy. This scheme not only empowers farmers but also advances the state’s clean energy mission.

This project is a strong example of collaboration between private developers and the Maharashtra government. Such solar initiatives accelerate rural development and support the state's vision for a green future.
