MEDA Invites Bids for 130 KTPA Green Hydrogen Projects in Maharashtra

May 12, 2025

The Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) has issued a tender for developing 130 kilotons per annum (KTPA) of green hydrogen capacity under the Maharashtra Green Hydrogen Policy 2023. The project includes anchor units of up to 100 KTPA and experimental units totaling 30 KTPA.

Bids are due by July 4, 2025, and will be opened on July 9. Applicants must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs75 lakh per KTPA, along with a document fee of Rs41 lakh and a bid processing fee of Rs40 lakh. Selected bidders must provide a performance bank guarantee of Rs1.75 crore/KTPA and an operational PBG of 1% of the fixed capital investment, valid for nearly 11 years.

The project scope covers installation, commissioning, and long-term operation of green hydrogen and renewable energy facilities, including compliance and monitoring systems. Bidders must prove the ability to commission at least 80% of awarded capacity and have a net worth of Rs60 lakh/KTPA.

Delays and performance shortfalls attract penalties, and modules must be sourced from MNRE’s Approved List. This tender follows MEDA’s recent solar project bids in Maharashtra, including rooftop and ground-mounted installations.
