Minda Corporation Partners with Toyodenso to Manufacture Advanced Automotive Switches in India

Minda Corporation, the flagship of the Spark Minda Group, has entered a joint venture with Japanese firm Toyodenso to design, develop, and manufacture advanced automotive switches for India’s growing vehicle market. The new entity will cater to two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, and other automotive segments, providing end-to-end solutions including development, production, and marketing.

Minda Corporation will hold a 60% stake in the joint venture, while Toyodenso will hold 40%. The companies have already received orders, and a greenfield manufacturing plant is set to be established in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, with operations expected to begin in the second half of FY 2026–27.

Ashok Minda, Chairman and CEO of Minda Corporation, emphasized the importance of the partnership in strengthening smart mobility solutions and promoting indigenous manufacturing. He highlighted the integration of globally recognized Japanese technology into India’s automotive ecosystem as a major step forward.

Toyodenso’s President, Kiyoshi Koide, expressed the company’s commitment to expanding in the Indian market through this partnership. The JV is aimed at addressing the rising demand for advanced automotive switches while aligning with the Spark Minda Group’s focus on localization and technology synergy.

Together, the partners plan to blend Japanese engineering expertise with Minda’s local manufacturing strength and supply chain capabilities.
