MNRE Adds 6,922 MW to ALMM List in October 2025, Pushing India’s Total Solar Module Capacity to 116.47 GW
Oct 16, 2025
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has announced an update to the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) – List-I, adding 6,922 MW of new solar module capacity in October 2025. With this update, India’s total enlisted module manufacturing capacity under ALMM now stands at 116,467 MW.
Among the new entrants, Solitech Green Energy (1,321 MW), Surana Solar (174 MW), and Suryanand Solar Cluster Association (33 MW) have been added to the list for the first time.
Several existing manufacturers have also expanded their listed capacities:
• Gautam Solar increased its capacity by 2,372 MW, taking its Haryana plant’s total to 3,224 MW.
• Bluebird Solar added 713 MW, reaching 819 MW overall.
• Goldi Sun (Goldi Solar) expanded its Navsari, Gujarat facility by 610 MW, bringing its total to 4,522 MW with new TOPCon module capacity.
• Rayzon Solar raised its capacity by 400 MW, reaching 3,406 MW.
• Jakson Engineers and Emmvee Energy added 85 MW and 12 MW, respectively.
• Insolation Green Energy also added 1,202 MW from its third manufacturing unit, increasing its total ALMM-listed capacity to 2,013 MW.
The previous ALMM update was issued on September 19, 2025, when 9,313 MW of solar module capacity was added, taking the total listed capacity at that time to 109,545 MW. In that update:
• Avaada Electro contributed 2,839 MW from its Nagpur plant, raising its total to 4,111 MW.
• Kosol Energie increased its capacity by 889 MW, reaching 1,526 MW.
• FS Green Energies (Future Solar) added 2,252 MW, reaching 2,896 MW.
• Cosmic PV Power grew by 1,117 MW to total 1,302 MW.
• Emmvee Energy commissioned a 2,229 MW facility in Kadaranapura Village, Karnataka.
• Meanwhile, Loom Solar’s listed capacity dropped by 13 MW, bringing it to 30 MW.
Introduced in 2021, the ALMM framework serves as a key quality assurance mechanism, ensuring that only certified solar module manufacturers can participate in government-backed projects, subsidies, and tenders. The list is periodically updated to reflect the current compliance status of manufacturers.
Starting June 1, 2026, solar cells will also be included under the ALMM mandate. The ministry released its first ALMM List-II for solar PV cells on July 31, 2025, listing 13,066 MW of domestic manufacturing capacity across six manufacturers and nine units.
In September 2025, Tata Power expanded its solar cell capacity by 4,813 MW through TP Solar and Tata Power Renewable Energy, taking its total to 17,839 MW.
Additionally, MNRE has released a draft amendment to extend the ALMM framework to solar wafers. As per the proposal, ALMM List-III for wafers will come into effect from June 1, 2028, provided at least three independent wafer manufacturing units with a combined capacity of 15 GW are operational. Each enlisted wafer manufacturer must also maintain equivalent ingot production capacity, promoting a fully integrated domestic value chain.
