Mar 29, 2025

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has expanded the Approved List of Module Manufacturers (ALMM) by adding 8,067 MW of solar module capacity, bringing the total ALMM capacity to 74,235 MW, a 10.48% increase from February 2025.

Key Updates:
New Additions (Total: 1,353 MW):
  • Asote Solutions (Ananya Solar) – 152 MW
  • MKU Holdings – 1,183 MW
  • Axitec Energy India – 18 MW
Major Capacity Additions (Total: 6,714 MW):
  • Goldi Sun (Goldi Solar) – 2,942 MW
  • Grew Energy – 1,624 MW
  • Navitas Solar (Navitas Green Solutions) – 1,100 MW
  • Ganesh Green Bharat (Ganesh Electricals) – 448 MW
  • Other additions – SAEL Solar, Sunbond Energy, HR Solar Solution
Provisional ALMM Additions:
  • ECE (India) Energies (40 MW) and Insolation Green Energy (800 MW) were added provisionally, pending factory inspections.
ALMM & Future Roadmap:
  • 9 companies removed from ALMM, reducing 1,020 MW capacity.
  • Solar cells will be included in ALMM from June 1, 2026, strengthening domestic manufacturing policies.
  • India added 11.3 GW of solar module capacity and 2 GW of cell capacity in 1H 2024, driven by a 132.7 GW project pipeline (2024-26).

The expansion of ALMM highlights India's push for domestic solar manufacturing to meet the growing demand for renewable energy projects and reduce import dependency.
