MSEB Agro Power Floats Tender for 1.6 GW Decentralised Solar under Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0

Aug 29, 2025

MSEB Agro Power Limited, a subsidiary of MSEB Holding Company Limited, has issued a tender for the development of 1.6 GW of decentralised ground-mounted solar projects in Maharashtra. The projects will be set up under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0, which aims to provide farmers with reliable daytime power supply while promoting clean energy adoption at the feeder level.

The scope of work includes the financing, ownership, design, construction, and operation of solar plants, along with operations and maintenance (O&M) services for 25 years. These decentralised projects will play a vital role in reducing transmission losses, ensuring power availability to rural areas, and strengthening the state’s renewable energy capacity.

As per tender guidelines, bidders must submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs100,000. Selected developers will also be required to furnish a performance bank guarantee of Rs500,000. The projects are expected to achieve commercial operation within 12 months of receiving the Letter of Award (LoA).

The last date for bid submission is August 28, 2025. This large-scale tender reinforces Maharashtra’s commitment to expanding farmer-centric solar projects while contributing to India’s clean energy targets.
