Nextracker Surpasses 10 GW Solar Deployment in India, Expands R&D and Manufacturing Footprint

May 28, 2025

Nextracker has achieved a major milestone by surpassing 10 gigawatts (GW) of solar tracker deployments in India, reinforcing its position as a market leader and highlighting the country’s accelerating solar adoption. With 1.8 GW added in the last quarter alone, the company’s growing project portfolio includes a 305 MW installation with ReNew in Anantapur and 1.5 GW through partnerships with key EPC firms.

To support this momentum, Nextracker has inaugurated an 80,000 sq. ft. office and R&D facility in Hyderabad—its largest outside the U.S.—which includes a 13-acre Center for Solar Excellence (CFSE). This new hub integrates R&D, testing, and training under one roof, backed by a Rs8.5 crore investment aimed at advancing local solar technology and workforce development.

In line with India’s ‘Make in India’ and Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiatives, 95% of Nextracker’s tracker components used in Indian projects are manufactured domestically. The company is scaling up hiring across engineering, manufacturing, and support roles, while also focusing on skill development to nurture local talent in advanced solar technologies.

Industry leaders, including ReNew’s Sanjay Varghese and NSEFI’s CEO Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, lauded Nextracker’s localized, innovation-driven approach. They emphasized that such partnerships combining global expertise with domestic manufacturing are vital to India’s renewable energy goals and its ambition to become a self-reliant green energy hub.
