NHPC Engages Adi Community on Siang Upper Multipurpose Project’s Strategic Importance

NHPC Limited organized a consultative discussion on October 4, 2025, at its Pasighat Office Complex in Arunachal Pradesh, where the Head of Project for the Siang Lower Project briefed representatives of the Adi Baane Kebang (the apex body of the Adi tribe) and the Siang Indigenous Farmers’ Forum (SIFF). The meeting focused on highlighting the strategic significance of the upcoming National Project — the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project.

The session aimed to build mutual understanding and ensure that local communities are well-informed about the project’s objectives and its long-term benefits for the region. NHPC officials emphasized that stakeholder engagement will remain a key part of the process, ensuring transparency and cooperation. They assured that consultations with local groups will take place at every stage of preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and conducting related studies.

This proactive approach underlines NHPC’s commitment to inclusive development and responsible project implementation in Arunachal Pradesh.
