Jun 30, 2025
Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), and Shri Santosh Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer of NHPC, along with other senior officials, participated in the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice. The session, held in Jammu, Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, on 28th June 2025, focused on evaluating the “Effectiveness of Vigilance Administration.”
The presence of NHPC’s top leadership highlights the company’s commitment to transparency, ethical governance, and robust vigilance practices. The meeting was part of the ongoing review by the committee to assess and enhance the mechanisms of vigilance across public sector undertakings and government departments.
NHPC, under the administrative control of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), plays a pivotal role in India’s clean energy transition through its hydropower and renewable energy initiatives. The engagement at the committee level underscores the importance of integrity and accountability in state-run enterprises managing critical infrastructure.
This interaction also aligns with the government’s larger efforts to strengthen institutional vigilance and ensure public trust in administrative frameworks across sectors, particularly in the power and renewable energy domain.
