NISE and SECI Conduct Technical Workshop on PLI Scheme (Tranche 2) for PV Module Manufacturers

Feb 14, 2025

The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), in collaboration with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), organized a technical workshop on February 12, 2025, to provide key insights on the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme (Tranche 2) for high-efficiency PV module manufacturers. The event was attended by representatives from nine shortlisted PV module manufacturers under the scheme.

Dr. Mohammad Rihan, Director General of NISE, inaugurated the session, emphasizing the importance of industry collaboration with institutions and government agencies to achieve the scheme’s objectives. SECI representatives also underscored the need for a unified approach to meeting the ambitious targets set under the PLI initiative.

Key sessions included an overview of the PLI scheme by SECI, detailing targets, timelines, and disbursement criteria. NISE provided insights into its role in supporting the PLI scheme through documentation guidance, site visits, and PV module testing.

The workshop served as a crucial platform for industry stakeholders to align with policy frameworks, ensuring the successful implementation of the PLI scheme and strengthening India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.
