NLC India Invites Bids for 5 MW Rooftop and Floating Solar Projects Across Four States
May 15, 2025
NLC India has floated a tender for the EPC of 5 MW grid-connected solar projects, comprising 4 MW of rooftop and 1 MW of floating solar capacity across four sites in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. The project locations include Neyveli (2.5 MW rooftop + 1 MW floating), Barsingsar (400 kW rooftop), Tuticorin (300 kW rooftop), and Ghatampur (800 kW rooftop). The scope includes design, supply, installation, commissioning, and a five-year O&M period.
Bids must be submitted and will be opened on May 24, 2025. Bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs0.297 crore and a document fee of Rs10,000. A 10% performance bank guarantee (valid for three months beyond the warranty period) and an additional 1% for O&M must be provided by successful bidders. The entire project must be commissioned within nine months from the letter of award.
Delays will incur penalties of 0.5% per week, capped at 5% of the contract value (excluding O&M). A 12-month warranty from the commissioning date and a 90-day performance test period during this phase are mandatory.
Only modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers are allowed. Eligibility criteria include having commissioned at least one 400 kW solar project (with a 40 kW minimum single project), a positive net worth, and an average annual turnover of Rs6 crore over the past three financial years.
This tender follows NLC India’s recent move to procure a 4 MW PEM electrolyzer-based green hydrogen plant in Neyveli, highlighting its growing renewable energy and hydrogen ambitions.
