NTPC Floats EPC Tender for 2 MW Solar Project in Jharkhand

Sept 20, 2025

NTPC has released an EPC tender for setting up a 2 MW solar power project at Dump C of its Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining Project in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. The last date to submit bids is October 8, 2025, and they will be opened on the same day. Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs2 million, along with performance guarantees of 5% during construction and 10% during the operation and maintenance (O&M) phase.

The project scope includes design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning, followed by three years of O&M services. The solar project will be connected at a 33 kV level. Bidders must arrange a temporary power supply for construction, either from NTPC’s source located 1.5 km away or via a suitable diesel generator. The selected contractor will handle civil works, supply spare equipment, and ensure proper cabling.

The project requires clearances from multiple authorities including MNRE, CEA, DGMS, and DISCOMs, along with support for NTPC’s PPA. It also includes topographical surveys, SCADA-enabled remote monitoring, bi-directional metering, and use of 570 W DCR-compliant panels from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). The project must maintain a 24% CUF, with penalties of Rs5/kWh for shortfall. Only Class-I local suppliers with 60% minimum local content are eligible.
