NTPC Green Energy Invites EoIs for Green Hydrogen and Chemical Projects at Pudimadaka Hub
Sept 29, 2025
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) from Indian and international developers to establish green hydrogen and green chemical projects at its upcoming national green hydrogen hub in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh.
The hub is designed to be one of India’s largest clean energy industrial complexes, with the capacity to produce 2.5 million metric tonnes annually of green chemicals including ammonia, methanol, sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF), and green urea. Planned infrastructure includes 7 GW of electrolyser capacity, 7.5 GW GIS substations, and transmission lines connecting to the central transmission utility. It will also feature a captive port and jetty, desalination plant, chemical storage facilities, logistics systems, and shared utilities to support large-scale industrial operations.
As per tender conditions, eligible projects must source renewable power, water, and other inputs exclusively from NGEL. Renewable energy requirements will be supplied by NGEL from within Andhra Pradesh, ensuring integrated clean energy sourcing.
This initiative positions Pudimadaka as a flagship green hydrogen hub for India’s decarbonisation drive. In parallel, NGEL continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio, having recently commissioned 100 MW of IRCON Renewable Power Limited’s 500 MW solar project at Karnataka’s Pavagada Solar Park.
