NTPC Green Floats EPC Tender for 130 MW/520 MWh BESS at Ramagundam and Sipat
May 06, 2025
NTPC Green Energy has issued an EPC tender for developing a 130 MW/520 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at its thermal power plants in Ramagundam, Telangana, and Sipat, Chhattisgarh. Bids are due by June 6, 2025, and will be opened the same day.
The project is split into two blocks: Block-1 includes a 100 MW/400 MWh BESS at Ramagundam, while Block-2 features a 30 MW/120 MWh BESS at Sipat. The turnkey scope includes design, supply, installation, commissioning, and 15 years of operations and maintenance.
The BESS will be AC-coupled at 33 kV to existing solar power infrastructure and must be capable of delivering a full daily charge-discharge cycle for over 15 years. Containers must have at least 5 MWh DC capacity and incorporate battery management, SCADA, power conversion, and fire safety systems.
Bidders must also provide site preparation, auxiliary infrastructure, remote monitoring, and substation upgrades for grid integration at 400 kV or 220 kV.
This follows NTPC Renewable Energy's recent tenders for a 56 MW floating solar + 60 MW/240 MWh BESS project in Jharkhand and a 900 MW ISTS-connected solar project in Gujarat.
