NTPC Invites Bids for 250 MW Solar EPC Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan

Jun 03, 2025

NTPC has floated a tender for the EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) of a 250 MW ground-mounted solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, with bids due by June 30, 2025. A bid fee of Rs22,500 is applicable. The project includes comprehensive work such as design, engineering, module mounting (with trackers), substation interface, dynamic reactive power compensation, and installation of SCADA and CCTV systems. The selected EPC contractor must also provide three years of O&M services.

Scope of work includes land grading, vegetation clearance, topographical and geotechnical surveys, civil works, internal roads, water and power arrangements, and grid compliance studies. The power must be evacuated to the owner's 33 kV pooling switchgear. Bidders are also required to install string/central inverters with a cumulative capacity of 250 MW and provide spare parts and cleaning systems.

To qualify, bidders must be Class-I local suppliers and meet extensive technical and financial criteria, including experience in executing at least 40 MW of solar projects (with one project of at least 10 MW), and industrial project execution worth Rs159 crore. They must also have completed a 33 kV electrical substation and demonstrate a minimum average annual turnover of Rs159 crore over the past three years, with a net worth of at least 100% of their paid-up capital.

The project must be completed within 15 months of award. This tender comes shortly after NTPC Renewable Energy issued a similar EPC tender for a 245 MW project in Gujarat’s Khavda Renewable Energy Park, reinforcing the company’s aggressive solar expansion.
