NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd Floats Tender for 1,000 MW Solar BoS Package in Rajasthan

Apr 11, 2025

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL) has issued a tender for the balance of system (BoS) works for developing 1,000 MW of solar power projects in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project is divided into four blocks: two of 300 MW and two of 200 MW. Bids must be submitted by May 16, 2025, and will be opened the same day. Interested bidders need to pay a document fee of Rs22,500 to Rs20 crore, depending on the number of blocks they bid for.

The scope includes design, engineering, procurement, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar plants. It also involves setting up inverter rooms, power supply systems, and undertaking operations and maintenance (O&M) for three years.

Eligible bidders must have prior experience in either BoS work or solar project development of at least 40 MW, with a minimum of one 10 MW project operational for at least six months. Alternatively, bidders with experience in large industrial projects across sectors like power, steel, oil and gas, etc., can qualify.

Financially, bidders must show annual turnover based on project size—ranging from Rs75 crore —and a net worth equal to 100% of paid-up capital in the last financial year.

Earlier this year, NTPC REL also floated a similar BoS tender for a 900 MW wind project in Andhra Pradesh, showing its continued momentum in large-scale renewable development.
