NVVN Issues Tender for 1 MW Rooftop Solar Project at DRDO Jodhpur
Sept 18, 2025
NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) has floated a tender for setting up a 1 MW grid-connected rooftop solar project at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) campus in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The deadline for bid submission is October 7, 2025, and bids will be opened on October 8. A bid security of Rs500,000 is mandatory.
The project scope includes complete design, engineering, supply, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning. The selected bidder will also handle 10 years of operations and maintenance (O&M). Before installation, bidders must assess the site’s roof, electricity and water connections, and security conditions to finalize project capacity and O&M requirements.
The project must be connected to the existing grid with all necessary approvals from distribution authorities. A remote monitoring system with internet facilities is required for ongoing operations. Permanent rooftop access, such as steel staircases or ladders with weatherproof finishing, must be installed where needed.
A water-based cleaning system, including pipelines, pumps, meters, taps, and an emergency portable pressure cleaner, is also mandatory. Monthly joint meter readings must be submitted without extra cost. The contractor must also secure net metering approvals, provide insurance, and ensure worker safety with lifelines and fall protection.
As per local sourcing norms, Class-I suppliers must use 50% domestic content, while Class-II suppliers must use at least 20%. This tender follows NVVN’s earlier plan to empanel EPC contractors for rooftop and ground-mounted projects of up to 20 MW.
