PFC Consulting Invites Bids for 3 GW Transmission Project in Kurnool IV REZ Phase II
May 08, 2025
PFC Consulting has invited bids to develop an interstate transmission system to evacuate 3 GW of renewable energy from the Kurnool IV Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase II in Andhra Pradesh. The bid submission and opening date is May 5, 2025. The scope includes the establishment of a 765/400 kV pooling station, bus reactors, static synchronous compensator, and 765 kV double-circuit (D/C) lines to Bidar and Kurnool-III pooling stations.
Bidders must submit a bid bond of Rs43.4 crore and a performance guarantee of Rs108 crore, along with a Rs500,000 bid document fee. The selected developer will execute the project on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis and will be responsible for all project activities—from surveying and financing to obtaining clearances and compensating landowners.
The project must be completed within 30 months. Technical eligibility requires bidders to have developed or constructed infrastructure projects worth at least Rs2,170 crore over the past five years, with individual projects valued at a minimum of Rs434 crore. A minimum net worth of Rs868 crore is also required.
The transmission upgrade is part of a larger plan to handle 23 GW of RE capacity in Kurnool, where Phase I augmentation is already underway. Recently, Sterlite Power (Resonia) won a similar PFC Consulting project for the Ananthapur-II REZ to evacuate 4.5 GW of power.
