PIXON Expands Rajkot Facility with 800 MW Solar Module Capacity
Sept 27, 2025
PIXON, a Gujarat-based solar module manufacturer, is expanding its Rajkot plant by 800 MW, increasing its current 1 GW capacity to 1.8 GW by November 2025. The facility manufactures advanced TOPCon and HJT solar modules, supported by fully automated, AI-optimized production lines. Designed for scalability, the plant can expand up to 3 GW each for module and encapsulant film production, with both processes housed in one facility.
PIXON’s solar modules deliver up to 600 Wp output with 21.2?ficiency, making them suitable for large-scale utility and rooftop applications. This expansion aligns with India’s growing solar demand, driven by government policies and the reimposition of the ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers) order in April 2024.
India added 25.3 GW of solar module capacity in 2024, led by monocrystalline technology, which holds nearly 59% share of production. By 2027, monocrystalline modules are projected to account for 58% of module capacity and 64% of cell capacity, followed by TOPCon and HJT.
Meanwhile, the MNRE updated ALMM in September 2025, adding 9,326 MW and bringing the total approved capacity to 109,545 MW. The ministry also proposed an ALMM List-III for wafers, ensuring complete domestic value chain integration across modules, cells, and wafers.
