PM Modi Inaugurates Avaada’s 200 MW Solar Plant, Lays Foundation for India’s Largest BESS Project in Rajasthan
Sept 27, 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for Avaada Group’s 1,560 MWp solar plus 2,500 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project at Pugal, while also inaugurating a 200 MW (282 MWp) solar power project at Shri Dungargarh, Bikaner, Rajasthan. Together, the two projects represent an investment exceeding Rs9,200 crore in the state’s renewable energy sector.
The Shri Dungargarh project, spread over 777 acres, will supply clean power to Rajasthan discoms using Avaada Electro’s ALMM-certified ‘Made in India’ TOPCon N-Type bifacial solar modules. The Pugal project, India’s largest BESS to date, will span 4,000 acres and enable round-the-clock green power by storing solar energy for use beyond daylight hours, thereby strengthening grid reliability.
Both projects are expected to generate over 1,600 green jobs, cut down 20 lakh tons of CO? emissions annually, and save 600 lakh litres of water through robotic cleaning systems.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi hailed the milestone as a landmark in India’s clean energy journey, while Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the state’s rapid progress in turning MoUs into projects. Avaada Chairman Vineet Mittal emphasized the projects as investments in “India’s green future,” reinforcing Rajasthan’s central role in Avaada’s growth.
With 2.2 GW already commissioned in Rajasthan, Avaada’s operational portfolio now stands at 5.7 GWp nationwide.
