PM Modi Lays Foundation and Inaugurates Key POWERGRID Transmission Projects in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones for two major POWERGRID projects in Rajasthan under the Phase-IV Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) development. The projects include the Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-2: 5.5 GW) at Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex, implemented through two special purpose vehicles (SPVs) — POWERGRID Sirohi Transmission Limited (Part B) and POWERGRID Mewar Transmission Limited (Part E).

Additionally, the Hon’ble PM inaugurated three significant POWERGRID projects:

1. POWERGRID Neemuch Transmission System Limited (PNTL)

for evacuation from the 1000 MW Neemuch Solar Park.

2. POWERGRID Bikaner Transmission System Limited

, part of REZ Phase-IV (Part 1) - Bikaner Complex (Part E).

3. Augmentation of transformation capacity

at Fatehgarh-II pooling station with the addition of 1x500 MVA 400/220 kV transformer to ensure N-1 contingency support.

These projects collectively enhance India’s grid infrastructure for integrating large-scale renewable energy, particularly from solar-rich regions of Rajasthan, supporting the country’s broader clean energy and energy security goals.
