PM Modi Lays Foundation for SECI’s Largest 300 MW Solar Project in Andhra Pradesh

Sept 29, 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually laid the foundation stone for a 300 MW (AC) solar PV project by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at Ramagiri, Sri Sathya Sai District, Andhra Pradesh. This marks SECI’s largest self-owned solar PV installation and a key step in advancing India’s renewable energy goals. The ceremony was held on September 15, 2025, during the Seva Parv celebration in Rajasthan, attended by state and union leaders, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Spanning 1,047 acres across Ramagiri and Muthuvakuntla villages, the project is being developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase II, Tranche III. The generated power will be supplied to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Ltd (MPPMCL) through an executed agreement, ensuring interstate renewable energy distribution.

The project is expected to create significant direct and indirect employment during construction and operations, improve local infrastructure, and support socio-economic development in the region. PM Modi emphasized that the initiative reflects the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”, ensuring clean energy and equal opportunities for all. SECI highlighted the project as a model of public sector-led renewable growth aligning national energy priorities with community development.
