PNC Infratech Establishes Subsidiary to Venture into Renewable Energy Sector; Shares Under Pressure

Infrastructure major PNC Infratech Limited has announced the formation of a new wholly owned subsidiary, PNC Renewable Energy Private Limited, to expand its footprint into the renewable energy domain. The newly incorporated entity will undertake projects and operations related to green energy and allied activities as part of the company’s broader diversification strategy.
According to the company’s regulatory filing, PNC Renewable Energy Private Limited is classified as a wholly owned subsidiary (WOS), making it a related party under corporate governance norms. The firm clarified that any transactions conducted with the subsidiary will be carried out strictly on an arm’s-length basis. The newly formed entity is yet to commence commercial operations.
On the stock market front, PNC Infratech’s shares were in focus today following the announcement. The stock closed 1.46% lower at Rs284.40 on Monday, compared to the previous close of Rs288.60 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). A total of 6.525 lakh shares were traded, resulting in a turnover of Rs18.59 lakh. The company’s market capitalization stood at approximately Rs7,295.97 crore.
Over the past year, PNC Infratech’s share price has exhibited significant volatility, touching a 52-week low of Rs235.70 on April 7, 2025, and a 52-week high of Rs470.40 on October 16, 2024. The stock currently carries a beta value of 1.2, indicating higher-than-average market volatility. From a technical perspective, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 29.5, suggesting the stock is trading in the oversold zone. Additionally, the stock is positioned below its 5-day, 10-day, 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages, signaling continued short-term weakness.
PNC Infratech is known for delivering comprehensive infrastructure development solutions, including engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services across item rate and turnkey contracts. The company also engages in projects under public-private partnership (PPP) frameworks such as Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer (DBFOT) and Operate-Maintain-Transfer (OMT) models, contributing to large-scale national infrastructure development.
