Premier Energies Commissions 1.2 GW TOPCon Solar Cell Line in Hyderabad
Jun 28, 2025
Premier Energies Limited has successfully commissioned a 1.2 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing line at Fab City, Hyderabad, reinforcing its position among the few Indian manufacturers producing high-efficiency TOPCon cells. The new line boasts solar cell efficiencies exceeding 25%, enabled by an advanced 16-busbar architecture for enhanced power density and real-world energy yield.
This commissioning marks a major milestone in Premier Energies’ strategy to develop a fully integrated, high-efficiency solar manufacturing ecosystem – from ingots and wafers to cells and modules – supporting the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. With this development, the company's solar cell manufacturing capacity has increased from 2 GW to 3.2 GW.
Premier Energies aims to expand its cell and module capacities to 8.4 GW and 11.1 GW respectively by June 2026. Already a publicly listed entity, the company is recognized for its innovation, sustainability focus, and employee-friendly policies. It holds a Great Place to Work certification for four consecutive years. The new facility significantly contributes to India’s renewable energy goals and reduces reliance on imported solar components by advancing domestic manufacturing capabilities in next-gen TOPCon technology.
