Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) Floats Tender to Solarise 200 Agri Connections Under PM-KUSUM in Punjab
Jun 10, 2025
The Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has issued a Request for Selection (RFS) to solarise around 200 grid-connected agricultural connections under Component-C1 of the PM-KUSUM scheme, initiated by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The tender invites online bids for the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and five-year maintenance of distributed solar PV systems across three 11 kV agricultural feeders: Kurali (Banur Sub-Division), Peerkot (Sub Maur), and Sadhowal (Rangian).
A significant feature of the project includes the compulsory replacement of existing AC pumps with BEE Star Rated energy-efficient pumps. Additionally, vendors must integrate and maintain a Remote Monitoring System (RMS) compliant with MNRE standards. The RFS was released on June 6, 2025, with a pre-bid meeting scheduled for June 17. Bidders must submit proposals by June 25, with technical bids to be opened on June 26.
PEDA has already enlisted a group of farmers for a pilot project but has adopted a market-driven model, empowering vendors to engage new farmers for further implementation. This pilot, if successful, will lay the foundation for a broader rollout of grid-connected solar pump solarisation throughout Punjab.
