PURE Launches AI-Driven PuREPower Storage Solutions to Revolutionize India’s Renewable Energy Landscape

Jun 26, 2025

PuREPower, developed by Hyderabad-based cleantech firm PURE (Power Using Renewable Energy), marks a significant leap in India’s energy storage sector. Founded with a mission to innovate in battery technology and power electronics, PURE began incubating PuREPower at IIT Hyderabad in 2018. Officially launched in March 2025, PuREPower offers AI-powered, all-in-one energy storage solutions for residential, commercial, and grid-scale applications.

The Home variant features solar hybrid control and high-density lithium-ion batteries, targeting energy independence and high-surge load management. The Commercial system replaces diesel generators and bulky UPS setups, reducing capex for SMEs and integrating seamlessly with rooftop solar. The Grid variant, a 5 MWh containerized system with patented Nano-PCM and liquid cooling, is tailored for discoms, large industries, and EV charging aggregators, improving grid stability and peak load efficiency.

Backed by a robust R&D process and PURE’s X Platform 3.0, PuREPower leverages predictive AI for remote monitoring, proactive maintenance, and operational automation, reducing downtime and enhancing performance. Drawing insights from over 100,000 EV battery units, the solutions emphasize reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

The go-to-market strategy involves expanding a national dealer network for home and commercial systems and a direct B2B approach for grid-scale units, which have already attracted 20 EPC firms with over 5 GWh in project interest. With 67% of components locally sourced, PURE has achieved 50% lower costs compared to global counterparts.

Looking ahead, PURE plans to invest Rs400 crore to scale its production capacity to 2.5 GWh, develop solid-state batteries, and expand globally. Regulatory clarity, like CEA’s 10% ESS mandate for RE projects, and PuREPower’s modular, ROW-friendly design position it as a key enabler in India’s transition to resilient, renewable energy systems. The company has already filed over 120 IPs, underscoring its innovation-driven vision.
