Rays Power Infra and Hetvi Construction Win 250 MW Solar Projects in Assam
Apr 29, 2025
Rays Power Infra and Hetvi Construction have won the Assam Power Distribution Company’s (APDCL) tender to build 250 MW of solar power projects in KarbiAnglong, Assam. Each company will set up 125 MW. The tender was released in May 2024 and is part of a larger plan to build 1 GW of solar power in the region.
The winning companies will be responsible for the full development of the projects, including designing, engineering, installing, testing, and commissioning the solar plants on a turnkey basis. They must also handle operations and maintenance (O&M) for three years after installation. Each project lot must maintain a DC capacity of 181.25 MW and an AC capacity of 125 MW, and generate at least 267.05 million units of electricity with a minimum performance ratio of 81%.
Additionally, bidders must ensure the project operates at 98% of its capacity throughout its lifespan. The tender required that solar modules and inverters must be sourced from experienced manufacturers who have sold at least 1,000 MW of modules and 1,000 MVA of inverters over the past five years.
Separately, APDCL is also working on rooftop solar projects under PM Surya Ghar Yojana and plans solar installations on agricultural lands across Assam.
