RCCPL to Source Power from 6 MW Captive Solar Project in Uttar Pradesh
Sept 02, 2025
RCCPL, a subsidiary of Birla Corporation, will procure renewable power from a 6 MW group captive solar project being developed by Enfinity Global Energy Innovations in Kundanganj, Uttar Pradesh. To participate in the project, RCCPL will invest Rs29.4 million for a 26% equity stake, with the transaction expected to close by March 31, 2026, subject to customary approvals.
Birla Corporation clarified that the investment is not a related-party transaction and that promoters hold no financial interest in the project company. Enfinity Global, incorporated in May 2023, focuses on renewable power generation, distribution, and supply.
This move aligns with Birla Corporation’s growing clean energy strategy. In FY 2024-25, the company acquired stakes in Continuum Green Energy II Hybrid Energy and Continuum MP Windfarm Development, securing hybrid solar-wind power for its Chanderia (Rajasthan) and Maihar (Madhya Pradesh) units. By March 2025, Birla Corporation’s green energy capacity reached 96.55 MW, comprising 41.20 MW solar, 43.35 MW waste heat recovery, and 12 MW hybrid energy, accounting for 25% of total consumption.
With this new captive solar project, RCCPL continues to advance its sustainability goals while reducing power costs. The company expects the share of renewable energy in its portfolio to rise further as solar-wind hybrid sourcing ramps up.
