RECPDCL Invites Bids for 400 kV Substation in Belagavi, Karnataka

May 02, 2025

REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) has called for bids to establish a 400 kV substation and associated transmission lines in Belagavi district, Karnataka, on a build, own, and operate basis. Proposals must be submitted by July 4, 2025, with the opening scheduled for the same day. Bidders must provide a performance guarantee of Rs40.98 crore.

The project involves the design, engineering, construction, testing, and commissioning of the substation, along with the supply of equipment and materials. It also includes project management tasks such as obtaining necessary clearances and providing the land for the project. The new substation will relieve the existing Narendra substation, which serves the Belagavi and Bagalkot districts, and help ensure reliable evacuation of energy from wind, solar, and cogeneration sources.

The substation will be located in Mekhali village and will have a capacity of 2X500 MVA, 400/220/33 kV. Bidders must meet specific technical criteria, including having a minimum capital expenditure or payments in the infrastructure sector and a net worth of at least Rs320 crore . Recently, RECPDCL also invited bids to develop an interstate transmission system for pumped storage projects in Uttar Pradesh.
