REIL Floats Tender for 1.14 MW Rooftop Solar Projects Across South India

Apr 18, 2025

Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has issued a tender for rate contracts to install a total of 1.14 MW of rooftop solar systems on government buildings in several southern states and union territories — Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep. Each building will get systems ranging from 10 kW to 1,000 kW. The contract is valid for one year, with a possibility of extension.

Interested bidders need to submit their proposals by May 6, 2025, with bid opening on May 7. They must deposit Rs570,000 as earnest money and pay a Rs1,000 tender fee. Selected bidders will need to provide performance security equal to 3% of the contract value. The total estimated project cost is Rs2.85 crore.

The scope includes designing, engineering, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop systems, along with integration to the local grid. Successful bidders must also provide all civil works and five years of O&M services. Projects must be completed within 90 days of receiving the work order. Delays can lead to penalties up to 5% of the contract value. Bidders must have prior experience with similar government projects, meet financial criteria, and have a positive net worth.
