Reliance, L&T, Waaree Among Winners of SECI’s Green Hydrogen SIGHT-II Tenders
Mar 27, 2025
Nine companies, including Reliance Green Hydrogen, L&T Energy, AM Green Ammonia, and Waaree Clean Energy Solutions, have won tenders under the second tranche of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme, according to SECI. This auction aims to boost India’s green hydrogen production capacity by 450,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA).

Among the highest capacity allocations, L&T Energy, Green Infra Renewable Energy Farms, Waaree, and AM Green Ammonia secured 90,000 MTPA each, while Reliance Green Hydrogen won 49,000 MTPA. The government has allocated Rs2,238.59 crore in incentives under this tranche, with AM Green Ammonia and Waaree receiving the highest at Rs513 crore and Rs510.3 crore, respectively.
Each 100,000 MTPA green hydrogen plant requires an estimated investment of Rs18,000-20,000 crore, meaning this round could attract investments of around Rs80,000 crore. The National Green Hydrogen Mission, launched in 2023 with an outlay of Rs19,744 crore until 2029-30, aims to achieve at least 5 MTPA of green hydrogen production by FY30.
This development highlights India's growing private sector push toward green hydrogen, a crucial element of the country’s clean energy transition.
