Reliance NU Energies Wins 350 MW Solar + 700 MWh BESS Project from SJVN

May 12, 2025

Reliance NU Energies, a subsidiary of Reliance Power, has secured the largest allocation in SJVN’s tariff-based competitive bidding for an integrated solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) project. The company has been awarded 350 MW of solar generation capacity coupled with 175 MW/700 MWh BESS. The tariff for the project was discovered at Rs3.33/kWh, fixed for 25 years. A Letter of Award (LOA) from SJVN is currently awaited.

Once commissioned, this project will add 600 MWp of solar PV capacity and 700 MWh of energy storage to Reliance Power’s portfolio, significantly enhancing its position in India’s renewable energy sector. This strategic win boosts Reliance’s clean energy pipeline to 2.5 GWp of solar and over 2.5 GWh of BESS, establishing it as the country’s largest integrated solar-plus-storage developer.

The project reinforces Reliance NU Energies’ role as a leading new energy platform under the Reliance Group, contributing to India’s evolving energy mix and grid stability through dispatchable renewable energy solutions.
