ReNew Inaugurates 1.3 GWp Solar Project in Jaisalmer with 100% Made-in-India Modules

Apr 19, 2025

ReNew, a leading decarbonisation solutions provider, has inaugurated a massive 1.3 GWp solar power project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on April 17, 2025. The project, spanning approximately 3,500 acres across villages such as Rampuriya and Bhinajpura, showcases ReNew's commitment to self-reliance by using 100% Made-by-ReNew solar panels.

The solar facility is set to generate an estimated 2,490 million units of clean electricity annually, powering around 5 lakh households in Rajasthan. This large-scale initiative will also offset approximately 2.3 million tons of CO2 emissions each year, significantly contributing to India’s climate goals.

Electricity from the project will be supplied at a highly competitive tariff of Rs2.18/kWh, reinforcing solar power as a cost-effective energy source. At the inauguration event, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, highlighted the project as a testament to the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat. ReNew’s Founder, Sumant Sinha, echoed this sentiment, celebrating the milestone as a step toward energy independence and sustainable growth.
