Saatvik Solar Begins Construction of 8.8 GW Integrated Solar Manufacturing Facility in Odisha

Jun 06, 2025

Saatvik Solar Industries, a subsidiary of Saatvik Green Energy (SGEL), has initiated construction of a major solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Odisha’s Gopalpur Industrial Park. The facility, spread over 57 acres leased from the Tata Steel Special Economic Zone, will house a 4.8 GW solar cell and 4 GW solar module capacity. The module unit is expected to be commissioned by the end of FY 2026, while the solar cell unit will be operational by the end of FY 2027.

This expansion aligns with Saatvik’s broader strategy to scale production and bolster its presence in both domestic and global markets. In parallel, the company is enhancing its Ambala, Haryana module manufacturing facility by 1 GW, scheduled to come online in Q1 FY 2026. Upon completion of both projects, Saatvik’s total integrated solar cell and module capacity will reach 8.8 GW.

Saatvik has emerged as a leading Indian module supplier in 2024, as per Mercom’s India Solar Market Leaderboard 2025. Additionally, the company secured two EPC contracts for 23 MW of solar projects from the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation earlier this year. The company also filed its draft red herring prospectus in November 2024 with SEBI, aiming to raise Rs1,150 crore through an IPO to support its ambitious growth plans.
