SAEL Commissions 200 MW Solar Project in Rajasthan Ahead of Schedule

Aug 29, 2025

SAEL Industries’ special purpose vehicle, Sunfree Energy RJP1, has commissioned a 200 MW solar project in Jalore, Rajasthan, on August 17, 2025, ahead of its scheduled COD. The project, spread over 1,000 acres, will supply power to Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services under a 25-year PPA at a tariff of Rs2.61/kWh.

The plant deploys advanced TOPCon modules in 146-cell and 156-cell configurations, offering peak output up to 635 Wp and efficiency up to 22.95%. Notably, 80% of the modules were sourced from SAEL’s own Kishangarh facility, strengthening its vertical integration.

SAEL has built a strong presence in India’s clean energy market with 7.7 GW (DC) of solar IPP assets, 3.5 GW of TOPCon assembly capacity, and 165 MW of agri-waste-to-energy projects. It is also establishing a 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW module manufacturing plant in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The commissioning follows a series of milestones in 2025, including a 50 MW project in Maharashtra, a 300 MW win in NHPC’s ISTS solar-storage tender, and securing $132 million debt finance for a 300 MW project in Andhra Pradesh. SAEL continues to expand across both solar generation and manufacturing, while diversifying into bioenergy solutions.
