Sarawak Energy Boosts Grid Resilience With Malaysia’s First Utility-Scale BESS

Sarawak Energy has successfully commissioned Malaysia’s first utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Sejingkat Power Plant. This initiative aims to enhance grid reliability and facilitate the integration of renewable energy.
The Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, visited the facility along with key government officials. The Sarawak Energy leadership briefed them on the BESS’s role in strengthening energy security and supporting Sarawak’s transition towards cleaner power solutions.
