SECI and MAHAPREIT Partner to Accelerate C&I Renewable Energy Projects in Maharashtra

Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) and Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Ltd. (MAHAPREIT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop renewable energy (RE) projects targeting the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sector in Maharashtra. The agreement focuses on land identification and ensuring connectivity infrastructure, enabling SECI to meet growing C&I demand for clean power in the region.

The MoU signing was attended by senior officials, including Bipin Shrimali (MD, MAHAPREIT), Sivakumar V Vepakomma (Director, SECI), Vijay Kumar Kalam Patil (Director, Operations, MAHAPREIT), and Purushottam Jadhav (Director, SGP, MAHAPREIT). Dipak Kokate and Avnish Parashar represented MAHAPREIT and SECI, respectively, in formalizing the agreement.

This strategic collaboration aligns with India’s clean energy transition goals and highlights the importance of infrastructure-led development and public-sector coordination in advancing renewable energy deployment. SECI emphasized that this partnership reinforces its role as a central enabler in decarbonizing India’s power sector, particularly by deepening its reach in the C&I market, a rapidly expanding segment in the nation’s renewable energy ecosystem.
