SECI Floats Tender for 3.54 MW Rooftop Solar Projects in Northeast Educational Institutions

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a tender to develop 3.54 MW of rooftop solar projects across Assam, Sikkim, and Manipur under the Renewable Energy Services Company mode (RTSPV–Tranche-II). The projects will be installed in premier educational institutions, reflecting the government’s push to integrate clean energy into campuses.
In Assam, installations include a 2,000 kW system at IIT Guwahati and a 125 kW project at IIIT Guwahati. Sikkim will host two projects at Sikkim Manipal University, with 700 kW at Majhitar and 550 kW at Tadong. In Manipur, Manipur University, Imphal will see a 165 kW rooftop system.
The scope of work covers complete design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and 25 years of operations and maintenance (O&M). Bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) varying by project site, ranging from Rs123,750 to Rs1.98 million. Successful developers will also sign a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the institutions.
The last date for bid submission is October 3, 2025. This tender highlights SECI’s efforts to promote renewable energy adoption in educational hubs while creating long-term clean energy infrastructure in the Northeast.
