SECI Invites Bids for 600 MW/1,200 MWh Battery Energy Storage Project in Andhra Pradesh
Aug 22, 2025
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has floated a request for proposal (RFP) to develop a 600 MW/1,200 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Kolimigundla, Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh. The project will be connected to the Kurnool-3 substation under the interstate transmission network. This follows SECI’s earlier tender for another 600 MW/1,200 MWh BESS at the same site, making Kolimigundla a key hub for large-scale storage deployment.
Bids must be submitted by September 22, 2025, and will be opened on September 25. Developers must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs86,600 per MW, along with a bid processing fee of Rs25,000 plus GST. Successful bidders will need to provide a performance bank guarantee but may avail a 10?vance payment option against an advance guarantee.
The project scope includes design, engineering, procurement, civil works, supply, installation, commissioning, and five years of comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M). O&M obligations include preventive and breakdown maintenance, spare parts, insurance, and strict service-level compliance with 100% serviceability and a 72-hour fault rectification limit.
Eligibility requires prior experience in either large-scale power EPC/development or industrial projects, with strict financial criteria including a minimum turnover of Rs1.03 billion and working capital of Rs556.4 million.
