SECI Issues 1,200 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy Tender with Co-Located Storage
Oct 03, 2025
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has floated FDRE-Tranche VII, a tender to procure 4,800 MWh (1,200 MW x 4 hours) of assured peak power from interstate transmission-connected renewable energy projects with co-located energy storage systems (ESS). Bids are due by October 31, 2025, with opening on November 11, 2025.
Bidders must provide earnest money deposits of Rs954,000/MW for solar, Rs1.33 million/MW for wind or other RE sources, and Rs235,450/MWh for ESS, along with fees for documents and bid processing. Selected developers must also submit significant performance bank guarantees, depending on the technology deployed.
The tender requires a minimum bid of 50 MW and caps individual allocations at 600 MW. Developers must supply 4,000 kWh per MW daily during four peak hours, with both generation and storage co-located. They are responsible for land acquisition, project development, statutory approvals, and all transmission-related costs up to the interconnection point.
Eligibility includes strict net worth requirements, while solar modules and cells must comply with the ALMM List-I and II. The power purchase agreement will run for 25 years.
This tender follows SECI’s recent rooftop solar projects and initiatives under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
