Serentica Renewables to Supply 200 MW of Firm Renewable Energy to Uttar Pradesh DISCOMs

Apr 15, 2025

In a major step toward strengthening clean energy supply in Uttar Pradesh, Serentica Renewables has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited to deliver 200 MW of Firm Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) to the state's electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs).

The agreement will leverage Serentica's integrated solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems, spread across multiple states, to ensure the delivery of on-demand green power, particularly during the state’s critical morning and evening peak hours.

A Hybrid Clean Energy Approach

By combining large-scale solar and wind installations with advanced battery storage, the project aims to overcome the inherent intermittency of renewables. This hybrid model ensures firm, round-the-clock power delivery, reducing dependency on conventional thermal power and moving Uttar Pradesh closer to its energy transition goals.

“This agreement exemplifies our commitment to providing reliable and sustainable renewable energy solutions,” said Akshay Hiranandani, CEO of Serentica Renewables. “Our FDRE model ensures we can deliver clean energy when it's most needed, contributing meaningfully to the state’s clean energy goals.”

Clean Energy for Industrial and Commercial Sectors

Serentica’s FDRE solution is designed to cater to industrial and commercial consumers across India, providing a reliable, cost-effective alternative to fossil fuels. By deploying state-of-the-art technology for energy balancing, the company plays a vital role in supporting India’s roadmap to net-zero emissions.
