SJVN has floated a tender to procure power from 600 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power projects. Developers can bid for a minimum of 50 MW and a maximum of 300 MW capacity. The last date for bid submission is October 20, 2025, with bids opening on October 23.

Financial requirements include an earnest money deposit of Rs1.3 million/MW (capped at Rs200 million), a performance guarantee of Rs3.3 million/MW, a document fee of Rs29,500, and a bid processing fee of Rs1.5 million. Successful bidders must also pay success charges of Rs100,000/MW and payment security charges of Rs0.02/kWh.

The scope of work covers setting up the wind projects, transmission up to the interconnection point, and installation of GPS-enabled automatic weather stations. Projects must interconnect at an ISTS substation (220 kV or higher) and use only wind turbines from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).

To qualify, bidders must meet strict financial norms, including a net worth of Rs13.3 million/MW and an annual turnover of Rs19.9 million/MW. They must ensure a minimum CUF of 22%.

Power generated will be supplied to Punjab State Power Corporation or other buyers, with developers eligible for tax holidays and fiscal incentives.
