SJVN’s Wind and Solar Revenue Surges 138% in Q4 FY25 Despite Overall Quarterly Loss

SJVN Ltd reported a significant 138.13% year-over-year (YoY) increase in revenue from its wind and solar operations for the fourth quarter (Q4) of financial year 2025, reaching Rs67.51 crore in Q4 FY24. However, the company posted a net loss of Rs128 crore during the same period last year.
Total revenue for Q4 FY25 declined by 4.18% YoY to Rs549 crore in Q4 FY24. Earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter stood at Rs0.32, compared to Rs0.16 a year earlier. Meanwhile, revenue from power sales rose by 54.84% to Rs186.9 million.
For the full financial year, SJVN recorded consolidated revenue of Rs3,377 crore in FY24. However, net profit declined by 10.2% YoY to Rs818 crore in the previous year. Annual EPS also declined to Rs2.08 from Rs2.32.
The company’s core hydropower business brought in Rs2,713 crore, up 114.9% from Rs1.07 crore.
SJVN’s subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy, is spearheading a 100 MW solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, which is projected to generate approximately 25.4 crore units (MU) in its first year. The power will be supplied to the Rajasthan Distribution Company at a tariff of Rs2.62/kWh.
As of now, SJVN operates 13 power projects with a total capacity of 2,786.5 MW, including two transmission lines. The company is currently building four hydroelectric projects (1,558 MW) and 11 solar projects (1,773 MW), bringing the total under-construction capacity to 4,601 MW.
