Jul 04, 2025
Soltec and TotalEnergies have expanded their joint renewable energy portfolio in Spain’s Murcia region with TotalEnergies acquiring a 65% stake in the Campos del Río solar project, which has an installed capacity of 59 MW. Soltec retains the remaining 35% under a co-development agreement focused on accelerating the regional energy transition.
Once operational, the solar plant will supply clean electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of over 33,700 households and help avoid more than 31,800 tonnes of CO? emissions each year. The deal strengthens the strategic partnership between the two firms and underscores their commitment to clean energy in Spain.
Raúl Morales, CEO of Soltec, emphasized the importance of the transaction in showcasing the value and quality of Soltec’s development portfolio. Yago Mancebo, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Renewables in Spain, reiterated the company’s focus on advancing renewables in the Murcia region, calling the agreement a demonstration of their commitment to the energy transition and their operational capabilities.
The partnership continues to position both companies as key contributors to Spain's decarbonization goals through increased renewable generation capacity.
