Sorigin RE Services Commissions 6.5 MW Solar Power Plant in Solapur, Maharashtra

Apr 07, 2025

Sorigin RE Services, part of the Sorigin Group, has successfully commissioned a 6.5 MW solar power project in Karmala Taluka, located in Solapur district, Maharashtra. This project marks a significant contribution to India’s ongoing push for clean energy and supports the nation’s ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

Spanning across 18 acres of land, the project is equipped with 11,928 high-efficiency solar panels, each having a capacity of 545 Wp (Watt peak). These panels are now generating substantial clean electricity, enough to power thousands of homes and businesses while reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

More than just a technical accomplishment, this project is a symbol of progress with sustainability at its core. Sorigin RE emphasizes that this is not only about generating watts or covering land with solar panels—it’s about creating a greener and more resilient future for India. By transforming underutilized land into a renewable energy hub, the company demonstrates how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand.
